It's been a *very* long time since I have had Moroccan food. I guess this may be why I may have had my expectations a little too high.

The decor was standard of most Moroccan restaurants. The sit down pillows, the rugs on the wall, the low tables...

The place was pretty busy on a Friday night, and if you are thinking of trying it for dinner I suggest reservations. Our party was quickly seated and we got ready for the meal to commence!

Our whole party ordered the 5 course meal -- we thought this would be pretty large so had brought our appetites.

After ordering, we were told to wash our hands in the traditional style. So far so good. Then, we were brought a bread basket where we were encouraged to take as much as we wanted for our salad.

Our table highly enjoyed the salad. Next came the B'astilla Royale -- a dish I had been extremely excited to try because it is my favorite Moroccan dish ever.

Unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite :( I am very picky about my chicken and I had a hard time eating the filling with minced chicken. The phyllo dough with the powdered sugar, though? I was all over it!

Since we had 5 people, we all ordered separate dishes. My brother's girlfriend ordered the Tagine of Chicken Lemon and Olives. It was okay, but a bit dry and the rice had a bit of a soapy flavor.

My brother ordered the Beef and Vegetable Brochette. Another okay dish -- eat this dish if you have very good teeth.

My husband ordered the Tagine of Lamb with Eggplant. Now, THIS was a winner and, if you are at this restaurant, I highly recommend this dish. The lamb was tender, the eggplant was cooked perfectly, and we loved sopping gravy up with the bread. However, this dish doesn't come with a side. So, if there are two of you, order the lamb with couscous.

I ordered the lamb with couscous which was another hit for our table. It was a great compliment to the lamb with eggplant.

Finally, my mother ordered the Tagine of Lamb M'Rouzia. She thought it was a little sweet, but if you like sweet meats, this would be a dish to try.

At the end of the meal, we were given a fruit dish for dessert with mint tea. We weren't excited about the fruit dish, but the mint tea was excellent and I had both my mother's and my brother's girlfriend's.
